NetSol to Offer 100-Year Domain Term http://thewhir.com/marketwatch/net032304 .cfm" title="http://thewhir.com/marketwatch/net032304 .cfm" target="_blank"http://thewhir.com/marketwatc...
"Domain name registrar Network Solutions (networksolutions.com) said this week that it would begin offering customers 100-year domain registrations at the discounted rate of $9.99 per year, resulting in a non-refundable up-front price tag of $999."
It's cheaper to get a domain at GoDaddy and you're not roped into some non-refundable gig! Who are these cats fooling?????

The wonderful world of SEO
03.17.04 (11:17 am)
Doesn't seem like that much is going on in the SEO world, not as much as usual. It's like everyone has fallen back to regroup on all these major changes that are going on around us. I think SEO is going the way of traditional advertising - pay for what you get. Either that or some up and coming search engine, like Gigablast.com, will enter the picture. The latter not happening over night. Google still shows directory/info pages. The real estate pages that were showing up a week or two ago, my clients, are now gone. I think the people at Google are sniffing too much glue... Yahoo is going to force everyone out on April 15th and make them start doing PPC at some level. MSN, who knows what they're up to - expect to pay though.
Here is a "wild" tool that compares the Google and Yahoo algorithm:

One of two things are going to happen in the future of SEO... everything will be PPC or PFI or other search engines will emerge... other free search engine like Google used to be. MSN still hasn't announced what they're up to but you can bet your last SEO dollar they're not going to let this market slide without them getting a peice of the pie.

Inktomi no more... Enters site match
03.08.04 (8:28 am)
This morning I was going to add a new SEO client into Inktomi... boy was I surprised at what I found:
Inktomi is no longer accepting new subscribers to its Search Submit™ program. If you're interested in joining a similar program, our partner Overture Services has just launched a new program called Site Match™. Please click here to learn more and sign up.
I knew there were going to be major changes but I didn't expect for paid inclusion to be totally dropped. Now you have to pay-per-click as well as a yearly fee to use their services:
http://www.content.overture.com/d/USm/ays/sm_pricing.jhtml" title="http://www.content.overture.com/d/USm/ays/sm_pricing.jhtml" target="_blank"http://www.content.overture.c...
which includes being in Yahoo!, AltaVista, AlltheWeb and others. Crazy!
The pay per click pricing is set, either 15 cents or 30 cents depending on what category you fall in. That'll make it easier on the user at least.

Google getting it's act together?
03.03.04 (9:20 am)
Recently I've noticed some of my clients creeping back up into the top 10 results of Google. I didn't change anything, I actually did the *wait and see* like a good lil SEO.
I had thought that any page containing the keyword phrase *real estate* was gone forever... what a surprise to see my client as #8 for
Albuquerque Real Estate
I also see other clients in other industries creeping back into the game. Mind you, they ALL rank VERY WELL in MSN and the NEW Yahoo!.
