Other Google Goodies:

DarkBlue launches “SEO CHALLENGE” and asks, “Are you a Stayer or a Player?”

DarkBlue.com (http://www.darkblue.com), a performance-based affiliate network, has launched a competition - “SEO CHALLENGE,” designed to challenge the best methods of Search Engine Optimizers (SEOs.) Entrants will compete for the number 1 position in Google.com for a given keyword. There are two stages in the competition with two prizes (an Apple iPod and Sony Flat Screen Monitor) awarded accordingly. The search term will be announced 9am GMT 7th of May, on SearchGuild.com in the Google Forum.

“SEO CHALLENGE” was born from the contrary philosophies currently dividing individual SEOs. Forum threads have been discussing the most effective high-ranking practices. Debates over High Risk SEO Vs. Low Risk SEO have spawned heated arguments. It is for this reason that “SEO CHALLENGE” has two stages to the competition.

Stage One is called the “Players Prize” and awards the SEO with the top position on Google.com judged 9am GMT 7th July. The winner will receive an iPod Mini, shipped within 72 hours. This stage is drawn after one month and is expected to draw fierce competition from the advocates of High Risk SEO.

Stage Two is called the “Stayers Prize” and awards the SEO with the top position on Google.com judged 9am GMT 7th June. This stage is drawn after two months and could provide solid proof to one of the opposing theories.

If the winner of the Players Prize continues to hold the number one position when the stage two Stayers Prize is judged, they will also win the second stage prize – A 17 inch Sony Flat Screen Monitor.

The competition, in association with SearchGuild.com (http://www.searchguild.com/tp...), will be run for two months from the 7th of May to the 7th of July and is open to all SearchGuild.com members. SearchGuild.com are helping to promote, run and judge the competition through their forum.

Follow the steps below to be considered an entrant and become eligible to win the competition and prizes:

1. Sign up to become a member at SearchGuild.com
2. Download the competition logo located on DarkBlue.com/seochallenge
3. Add your member nickname to the logo
4. Upload it to your optimised page before judging occurs
5. Optimize your page any way you want to.

See http://www.darkblue.com/seoch... for more details about the competition.

There's a gazillion articles about the IPO all over the Internet... it's almost pointless to list them all.
